Our Purpose
TK Assist was created from lived experience.
As founders, we have spent years working on the frontline, supporting people with disability, trauma and complex needs across hospitals, residential settings and remote communities.
Through this work, we saw firsthand how often people fall through the gaps — especially when systems are confusing, impersonal or culturally unsafe.
That’s why TK Assist exists.
We are here to ensure every person we support has:
  • A voice
  • A safe place
  • Someone who shows up and stays
Our purpose is simple but powerful: to help people feel supported, understood and capable in their everyday lives.
Who We Support
TK Assist supports people who thrive with culturally safe, relationship-first and consistent care.
Many of the people we walk alongside have not always felt understood or supported by mainstream services. We work best with individuals and families who value trust, connection, stability and support that respects culture, lived experience and communication styles.
  • Come from Indigenous, Torres Strait Islander, Pacific Islander or remote community backgrounds
  • Value genuine, relationship-based support
  • Need consistency, stability and routine
  • Want to build confidence, social connection and life skills
  • May be navigating psychosocial, mental health or behavioural challenges
  • Want support from people who understand their culture, family and community context
Our Services
Our supports are built around three key service pillars, delivered flexibly and intentionally to meet each person where they are.
Community Access & Social Participation
Supporting people to connect, belong and engage in everyday life in ways that feel meaningful and safe.
  • Fishing and outdoor activities
  • Gym, fitness and swimming
  • Day trips and community outings
  • Sporting, cultural and social events
  • Weekend experiences and social connection
We support people to feel part of their community, not isolated from it.

We dont try to be culturally safe,
We are culturally safe, We live it.
Cultural safety isn’t a checklist for us. It’s part of who we are and how we work. Our support reflects the cultures, values and communities we serve, so people feel seen, understood and respected.
Family-Based, Relationship-First Support
Participants aren’t just clients. They become part of our extended family.
Frontline Experience That Matters
Our approach is shaped by real, hands-on experience, not theory.
Focused, High-Quality Support
We do things properly, with care and intention, rather than growing fast for the sake of it.

A Team That Reflects
the Community
Our broader support team is selected for more than just qualifications.
We prioritise people who:
  • Share our values
  • Understand culture and community
  • Show up consistently
  • Build trust through actions
Many of our team come from Indigenous, Pacific Islander and culturally diverse backgrounds, helping participants feel understood, respected and culturally safe.
Walking With You, Every Step of the Way
We know navigating disability support systems can feel overwhelming. You don’t have to do it alone.
Whether you need help with daily living, community participation, system navigation or future housing options, TK Assist is here to walk beside you, with respect, care and consistency.
Why families and coordinators choose Tk Assist
TK Assist stands apart from mainstream providers because our model is built on lived experience, cultural
identity and genuine human connection
Deep Cultural Understanding
We don’t just support people — we understand the communities we serve. Our work is grounded in lived experience, cultural identity and respect for family, values and ways of life.
Genuine, Family-Based Support
Participants are not treated as numbers or cases. They become part of an extended support network built on trust, respect and genuine connection.
Strong Frontline Experience
Our approach is shaped by years of hands-on, frontline work in complex and high-pressure environments. We bring real-world understanding, not theory.
Focused, Consistent Support
We take on only the work we can do well. This allows us to provide stable teams, reliable routines and support that doesn’t change week to week.
Flexible, Person-Led Care
Support is tailored to each person’s needs, goals and circumstances — whether that’s daily living, community access, confidence building or navigating systems.
Care Done Properly
We prioritise doing things the right way, not the fastest way. Quality, safety and consistency come before growth or numbers.
